Helping make ballet dreams come true.
World Tutu Day is as an annual world wide fundraising event in support of ballet education.
Funds raised in Australia will help The Australian Ballet School to maximise its accessibility to talented students by providing scholarships and bursaries to those in need. It will also benefit all students by supporting the School’s health and welfare programmes.
Funds raised in other coutries will support top ballet schools all over the world and enable them to offer their programmes to those students who have the talent but not the means to succeed.
The World Tutu Day website is a fun and easy way to get your friends together and raise funds to help ballet dreams come true.
Click JOIN UP and you can create a supporter page to represent you. Simply fill in your name, or a nickname, and upload a picture. You will then have your own page which you can use to gather your friends together and start fundraising.
Once you have created your own supporter page you can start sharing the page with friends and family. They can donate to World Tutu Day through your page or join World Tutu Day themselves and start fundraising too.
You can hold an event, such as a party, and ask people to make a donation or get people to sponsor you for a physical challenge; anything from wearing a tutu to school or work to something really hard like a marathon.

Why we need your help
The Australian Ballet School is an autonomous, not-for-profit organisation that auditions and accepts students from all over urban and rural Australia and overseas based solely on talent and artistic potential, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Funds raised by World Tutu Day in Australia will enable the School to maximise its accessibility to talented students by providing scholarships and bursaries. It will also benefit all students by supporting the School’s health and welfare programmes.
Below are a few ideas on events to hold and ways to get sponsored. You can also think up your own event or challenge. Whichever activities you choose, simply tell your friends about it on your team’s page and use the social networking features to organise the activity.
Hold an event
A dress up party is fun for young and old so don a Tutu or Tutu Tee and get together on World Tutu Day. Kids can dance the afternoon away and when the sun goes down the adults can twirl with a cocktail in hand. We have provided some helpful information sheets below:
Get sponsored for a challenge
Dare to Wear
The ballet supporter who wouldn’t normally frock-up can Dare to Wear a tutu on World Tutu Day and get sponsored by friends, family or workmates. Maybe you’re a ballet dad and the wife and kids would get a thrill from seeing you get elegant, or you could be a boss who can give the business a lift by being a good sport.
Ballet dancers are some of the strongest and fittest people in the world so we know some of you will already be running, riding or swimming in competitions or organised events. If you are soon to take part in some kind of physical challenge why not get sponsored for the event and raise funds for The Australian Ballet School.
